Testimonials

"Dan Scibienski is a game-changer in the ELL educational community.  He transformed our good program to a great program. His knowledge of promoting student success in a safe and innovative learning environment is second to none.  I highly recommend Dan for any school or district that is looking to seriously impact their ELL program in ways once thought unimaginable."

Brad Currie , Middle School Vice Principal and Supervisor of Instruction for the Chester School District in Chester, NJ

"As a member of LVNJ’s corps of Master Trainers, Dan has designed and presented numerous professional development sessions for adult literacy practitioners in NJ. His workshops have included, Learning Words: Understanding How to Build Vocabulary, From Classroom to “Chat” Room, Beyond Flash Cards: Simple and Creative Ways to Use Index Cards to Enrich Your Lessons, and A Bag of Tricks: Successful Activities for Beginning ESOL Students.

Dan’s creativity and engaging style have made him a very popular trainer among the tutors in our network. His practical approach also means that practitioners leave his sessions with new strategies and activities that they are ready to use with their students. I am very grateful to have someone with his knowledge about instruction who is so willing to share his expertise. Dan’s insight as an educator is also very valuable as we assess our professional development activities and plan for the future."

Jessica Tomkins, Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey

Dan Scibienski was a wonderful facilitator of iPad training for our ESL teachers last week. He was punctual, clear, concise, and cordial. Dan had the perfect mix of content knowledge and pedagogy, and he executed a seamless workshop for my ESL teachers, many of which are new to the device and were nervous. Dan has a disarming presence and is patient with not only experienced device-users, but also ones who may be inexperienced.

Dan set clear expectations at the beginning of the workshop; he detailed that he would be showing us practical applications. Dan's style seems to be depth rather than breadth; I could tell that after the workshop, the teachers felt much more comfortable using their devices.

I highly commend him for the consulting work that he does with teachers. He is a knowledgeable educator who uses his experience as a teacher together with his knowledge of the device to help teachers feel more comfortable using it in the classroom.

Deirdre Bova, Supervisor K-12 Language Arts & ESL/Bilingual - West Windsor-Plainsboro Schools

"As a new ESL teacher, starting my teaching career at a new charter school, I felt unsure of exactly where to begin to identify my ELL students, their needs, and to find useful resources for teaching. ELLconsulting  provided me with the steps I needed to take to regarding screening and placement of my ELL students, to find parent sample notification to communicate with the parents of my ELLs, and some important things to consider when setting up my ESL Program. ELLconsulting also provided me with sample language to use in communicating with parents their right to opt out of ESL /Bilingual support services. The guidance that I received from ELLconsulting.org made me feel like I had one-on-one consulting, as I moved through what could have been a  complicated process for setting up my first ESL Program. The support I got from Daniel was invaluable!"

GAW, ESL Teacher

I contacted Daniel in October looking for guidance and support for my ESL program.  He responded back immediately and helped me get to the root of my concerns.  Not only has he taken time out of his schedule to answer every question that I had, he has also met with me, on his own time, to discuss everything from curriculum to pedagogy, ACCESS to PARCC.  Daniel's expertise in the field of ESL or ELL is vast, and his dedication to helping his colleagues succeed is quite honorable.  You don't come across many teachers who are willing to go the extra mile the way he does.  As a life-long learner, I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself personally and professionally, so that I can better meet the needs of my students.  I am fortunate to have aligned myself with someone who is so willing to freely share his knowledge, wisdom, and resources with me.  I look forward to continuing to work with Daniel in my quest to be the best ESL teacher I can possibly be.  Hopefully, one day, I will be able to pay it forward and be a mentor for a new teacher just beginning in her journey to be the best...
